Adam Cohen

Adam Cohen has devoted his entire legal career to the practice of elder law, with a concentration on serving older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families as they navigate complex legal and planning challenges. He approaches each client matter with compassion, understanding, and a strong commitment to solving difficult and often emotionally charged problems. His practice focuses on estate planning and guardianship matters, with substantial experience in long-term planning for disabled individuals, often through the use of special needs trusts and coordinated public-benefits strategies. He also represents catastrophically injured individuals in the structuring, protection, and administration of settlement recoveries, with particular attention to preserving eligibility for needs-based government benefits.

In addition to his planning practice, Mr. Cohen regularly represents fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and interested parties in trust and estate litigation before the Orphans’ Courts. Mr. Cohen values contributing to the ongoing professional development of Pennsylvania practitioners in these areas. He has lectured on elder law topics and regularly presents continuing legal education programs on guardianships, Orphans’ Court practice, and special needs planning.

Mr. Cohen is a Council Member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Elder Law Section and serves on the Roundtable Committee of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. As time permits, Mr. Cohen provides pro bono assistance to clients through organizations like Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Philadelphia VIP.  He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, and is admitted to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
